Mission

Prepared. Regulated. Informed.

Our purpose is to form resilient individuals who can manage the trials and tribulations of life — with education that informs, training that prepares, and community that holds them accountable and loved.

Our name & roots

Moehnke — pronounced “Mink”

The family name is said Mink (not “moan-key”). It carries a Prussian heritage of farmers and self-sufficient people — practical, steady, and built for hard seasons as much as harvest years.

In the mid-1800s, the family came to Canada as farmers and community-builders: working the land, providing for their own, and investing in the places they lived. That same instinct — self-reliance joined to building with neighbours — still shapes Moehnke Industries and the Defence School we are launching in Whitecourt.

Clarity for families

What we are — and what we are not

We are

  • An independent Defence School with military-style structure
  • Focused on Education, Training, and Community
  • A company culture that behaves like family
  • Committed to resilience, character, and academic seriousness

We are not

  • Affiliated with any military or government armed force
  • A recruitment pipeline for the armed services
  • A combat academy or war-training institution
  • Cold discipline without care, dignity, or belonging

Independent Defence School. Not affiliated with any military or government armed force. Structure serves learning and character — never military authority.
